Railway line, industry and colourful club life
Neubeckum has a population of over 11,000. The formerly independent municipality was integrated into the town of Beckum in 1975 as part of the municipal reorganisation. Neubeckum owes its development to the construction of the Cologne-Minden railway, today one of the busiest railway lines in Germany. The official opening of the line in 1847 marked the beginning of a new era: industrialisation and the rise of the cement industry. Cement products could finally be transported quickly and easily by rail. A railway junction was created in 1897 when the lines of the Westphalian State Railway Münster-Warstein and Neubeckum-Warendorf were also put into operation. Today, over
2,000 passengers use the transport hub every day, which is served every hour. The station building from 1916 is a listed building. Neubeckum's coat of arms is adorned with a rail track, which emphasises the importance of the station.
