Day of encounter on 10 May
Colourful hustle and bustle at the Westenfeuermarkt
After the ceremonial opening by Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich at 11 a.m., visitors can look forward to a varied stage programme that not only offers the best entertainment, but also invites them to join in.
Performers on stage will include Carina Brinkhaus from Beckum, who has made a name for herself in the pop pop genre and will perform together with the inclusive dance group "Dance Angels". Guests can also look forward to the inclusive band OléOla/Heintje-Blues-Band with Gudrun Gunia, musician and balladeer, as well as the choir "wir sind's" from Enniger.
There is also plenty on offer away from the stage: On the meadow, there are creative workshops, hands-on activities and a wide range of offers for young and old. While children can have fun, adults have the opportunity to find out more about topics such as housing, work and health for people with disabilities at various stands. Of course, there will also be plenty of culinary delights for guests to enjoy.
The "Day of Encounter" is a joint project of many groups - with and without disabilities - and sets an example for cooperation at eye level.
