Top-class football tournament

Sport and integration took centre stage

7 teams with athletes of different nationalities took part in the traditional international football tournament, which was held for the first time as an indoor tournament in the Jahnhalle.

The organisers Martin May-Neitemann from the Social Services Department of the City of Beckum and Ahmet Güven from the football club at Altes E-Werk blew the starting whistle for an exciting tournament in the morning. In addition to the sport, the integrative character of the event was also emphasised.

After high-class and exciting group matches, the teams of the Beckum Ski Club and the Arab-German Cultural Association met in the match for third place, which the Arab-German Cultural Association won.

"Strohhut-Piraten" leave the pitch as winners
In the high-class final between the defending champions "Strohhut-Piraten" and the "Italy" team, the "Strohhut-Piraten" showed their individual and team strength and ultimately won 6:0.

The winning teams received the challenge cup from patron Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and the Chairman of the Beckum Integration Council Mehmet Bilgic at the award ceremony. All participating teams were very satisfied with the organisation and the course of the tournament. Particular praise was given to the catering provided by the Arab-Deuten Association, which treated the players and the audience to Arabic specialities.
