Parent survey 2024

Good marks for child daycare

The town of Beckum has once again conducted a parent survey on the quality of daycare centres and childminders. The core of the survey consisted of questions relating to childcare and the general conditions of the daycare centres and childminders. Parents were able to rate the childcare services with school grades. As a result, the parents gave Beckum's daycare centres a good rating. As in the 2021 survey, the grades "very good" and "good" predominate in the overall assessment. Finally, parents were able to provide personal feedback in a free text field.

The survey took place for the first time in 2021 and has now been repeated. As in 2021, just over 50 per cent of all eligible parents took part.

What happens now with the survey results?
The results of the survey are discussed with the providers, centres and childminders. They serve as an impetus for the centres, providers and childminders to enter into closer dialogue with parents in order to jointly consider how quality can be ensured and, in some cases, improved. In some cases, for example, communication should be improved in order to close knowledge gaps. The daycare centre landscape in particular is also facing changes in terms of spatial conditions. A number of building projects are planned over the next few years to improve quality.

Thank you for taking part!
The City of Beckum's Child, Youth and Family Support Department would like to thank all participating parents, daycare centre managers and providers as well as daycare centres, childminders and the Youth Welfare Council for their excellent cooperation. The next survey is planned for spring 2027.
