Agreement according to § 6 EEG

Wersewind generates additional income for the city

By mutual agreement, Wersewind Beckum GmbH & Co. KG and the town of Beckum have concluded an agreement on financial participation by the municipality.

The legal basis for this is Section 6 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

In doing so, they are making use of the opportunity to benefit the town of Beckum and other municipalities within a radius of 2.5 kilometres (here: the town of Ahlen) with 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour of the electricity fed in by 4 wind turbines in Beckum.

The law stipulates that the grid operators reimburse the payments made by Wersewind Beckum. Wersewind Beckum makes this payment voluntarily and without any consideration; it is not legally obliged to do so. In this way, the legislator wishes to create a greater share of the proceeds from wind turbines for the municipalities.
